A video was posted to Liveleak earlier today purporting to show a drone colliding with a Southwest Airlines flight leaving New York and shearing off the tip of its wing. It’s got lots of play on Twitter…but it never happened.

Overduidelijk fake... al is het natuurlijk de vraag hoelang het zal duren voor dit wel een keer echt gaat gebeuren...
 
Een tijdje geleden zag ik op EHLE nog een modelvliegtuigje boven een taxi-baan cirkelen. Ik denk dat veel eigenaren van drones en ander vliegend speelgoed totaal geen besef hebben van het grote gevaar hiervan.

The FAA has confirmed it is investigating a midair collision between a biplane and what appears to be a large-scale radio-controlled model on Aug. 14. FAA spokesman Mike Fergus said the mishap occurred at an airport in Brighton, Colo. during what appeared to be a model aircraft event. The RC pilots were using an airport runway or taxiway for their activities, and the model involved in the collision was hovering on prop thrust above a paved surface when the biplane (type unknown) made a low-level pass with air show smoke on over the field, then struck the model.

A half-scale remote-control airplane collided with a real aircraft over a Colorado airport last weekend. While there were no injuries, the incident exposed the growing tension between pilots and model aircraft enthusiasts and their ever-larger RC aircraft.

The collision between the real and $8,000, 46% giant-scale remote-control aircraft occurred on August 14th at a small airport in Brighton, C More..olo., outside Denver. As you can see in the video below, the RC plane is hovering above the runway ten to 30 feet from the ground in a vertical position, with spectators nearby. Suddenly, a single-engine biplane goes for a low pass over the runway and splits the RC craft in half. The full-scale aircraft suffered "significant" damage, but was able to land.

Even een vraagje: waar is de "verkeersleiding" in de zin een drone laten opstijgen op een take off baan?? Komt op mij zeer onzorgvuldig over.."mis communicatie"??(wat ik hoorde in dit filmpje) begrijp hem even niet??

Sinds een jaar of 7-8 is dit de officiele FAA benaming voor vliegvelden zonder verkeerstoren.
Dit omdat "uncontrolled" te veel klinkt alsof het altijd een levensgevaarlijk zooitje is.......:rolleyes:
