Hawking:
God Not Needed for Creation
In his new book, "The Grand Design," British physicist and mathematician Stephen Hawking has caused quite a stir arguing that God was not needed for the creation of the universe.
Hawking says in fact, that the existence of gravity was enough for the universe to create itself from nothing spontaneous creation as he put it in the book.
Hawking's latest work is less sympathetic to the possibility of a creator than his 1988 best-seller "A Brief History of Time" in which he said the discovery of a complete theory of creation would let mankind "know the mind of God."
